Antonella Axisa
Biography
Antonella is an actress, presenter, and voiceover artist. She first trained at Malta’s national drama school for six years as well as with Aleateia theatre group. In 2006, she obtained her Masters in Performance from Goldsmiths College, London. In Brussels, she trained in the Meisner and Chubbuck techniques. Between 2014 and 2015, she spent some time in Los Angeles, attending classes at the Lee Strasberg School and the Chubbuck Studio. For theatre she performed in The Best European Show, Macbeth, Boulevard, Ħabbilni Ħa Nirbaħ and Sibna ż-Żejt at Teatru Manoel, as Estelle in Sartre’s No Exit and as Doctor Baldini in Moving Mountains at Spazju Kreattiv, as Kate Stockmann in En Folkefiende, and Pisani in Accidental Death of An Anarchist at the Blue Box, as Mrs Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor and Rebecca in Black Mountain for MADC, and as the Police Commissioner in the cabaret Balzunetta Towers at PTR. For television, Antonella has interpreted roles in TV series like Il-President, Chalet, L-Għarusa, Ħbieb u Għedewwa and Għada Jisbaħ Ukoll, while for film, Antonella played roles in Triq is-Sebgħa, Uwijja, White Roses, Compulsion, To Catch A Spy, Sniper, Alicia, The Last Grain, Coming Soon and Simshar. Antonella was also the Director of Teatru Malta’s Youth Theatre Festival Trikki Trakki for six years. She presents a TV programme about books on TVM.
