Biography

Roger Tirazona trained in the Johann Strauss School of Music in Voice and Piano and has been involved in Maltese  Music and performing arts since the age of 9. His childhood performances include the Maltese musicals Bastilja,  Taħt Tliet Saltniet and Ali Baba’ Roger’s performances span multiple disciplines and events, including musical  theatre, pop, classical and traditional music performances, and acting  in Malta and abroad.  Roger’s most recent performance was Gomez in The Addams Family – A New Musical and the title role of The  Phantom of the Opera in Malta’s Premiere performance of the show at the MFCC. Other Musical Theatre credits  include:  Javert in Les Miserables in Concert (MCC); Adam in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Manoel Theatre);  Horton in Seussical (Manoel Theatre) and Chauvelin in The Scarlet Pimpernel (Oratorio, Gozo) among many other roles. He won the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza in 2004 and placed 3rd and 2nd in the Malta Song For Europe as  part of the pop-classical vocal group “Trilogy”. Roger also won the Grand Prix at the Discovery Pop Singer contest  in 2006 and was awarded best performer in the New Asian Singer Contest in Beijing in 2010. Roger was also awarded a performer’s award in Naples, Italy in 2010. “Trilogy” was also a further opportunity to take part in international concerts which included concerts in Italy and in Tunisia. Solo concerts given by Roger include venues in Malta,  Russia, Italy, Bulgaria, Macedonia and  Lithuania among others. Roger was also the Music Director and vocal coach for  shows like 13- The Musical, R&J Forever, Simply Webber, Comedy Tonight and Christmas Pantomimes by the MADC.
