Boċċi, The Musical

Teatru Malta and Give or Take Productions are teaming up to present Boċċi the Musical!

Set against the backdrop of a struggling boċċi club on the brink of closure, an eccentric group of characters comes together in a last-ditch effort to save it. Osmar il-Kanadiż, the club’s last remaining player, and Jes, its weary owner, never imagined they’d see a woman join their team. But Martha, a young mother, refuses to accept the club’s demise and does everything in her power to keep it alive, though her reasons aren’t so clear to Jes and Osmar. Why is Martha so determined to save the club? What’s really driving her passion for this place?

This team of lovable misfits and their unlikely heroine, refuse to let the club, and what it represents, fade into obscurity. As they join forces to take on a fierce rival team, a battle unfolds; for victory, yes, but also for the survival of a way of life that is slowly slipping away.

This project is being created in co-production with Give or Take Productions, who in turn are supported by Arts Council Malta through the Arts Support Scheme, and produced in collaboration with the Malta International Arts Festival, and with the support of the French Embassy in Malta and partially funded by the IF Incontournable fund of the Institut Français.
