Dorothy Baldacchino
Biography
Dorothy Baldacchino’s soprano has a pure, crystal quality which makes her instrumentally suited for works by Baroque, Classical as well as 20th Century composers. She is an Associate of the Royal Schools of Music, where she holds a Distinction for her singing diploma. Dorothy read a BA (Hons) in Theatre Studies at the University of Malta. Aside from several solo recitals, highlights from her stage portfolio includes Pamina in the children’s adaptation of Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Manoel Theatre (Malta), Lilly in Drowning Lillies with Aleateia Teatre Group (Malta & Edinburgh) and, later, Artistic Assistant Director for Teatru Astra (Gozo) staging of Verdi’s Macbeth, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Puccini’s Turandot as well as Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette for the Teatro Coccia (Novarra, Italy). Her most recent stage appearance was for Teatru Malta’s Maltese operetta, composed by Alexander Vella Gregory and penned by Trevor Zahra, Il-Madonna Tiegħi Aħjar Minn Tiegħek. Dorothy is an avid runner, yoga practicioner and co-director of the Baldacchino Group of Companies.
