Reopening Our Theatres – A Livestream Discussion by the ETC

As the Coronavirus has changed the way we approach theatre performances, the European Theatre Convention is set to address the future of our theatres head-on with a three-day conference titled Connecting the Separated – Reopening European Theatres.

The conference is taking place between June 10 and 12 for ETC members, but there will be a free livestream available on Facebook on June 11 for non-members, kicking off at 10AM here.

As an ETC member, Teatru Malta will be present at the conference, represented by artistic director Sean Buhagiar. For more information about the conference, you can visit the ETC official website here.

The conference will tackle issues such as the following questions:

  • What world can we expect after the coronavirus crisis?
  • How can theatres shape the best possible future for their houses?

While it is impossible to offer exact replies to these questions, the ETC International Theatre Conference will aim at giving European theatres the tools to be able to respond to the situation, as part of a drive for the safe reopening of European theatres.

The conference will also share best practice and explore ideas from all over Europe.
