L-AVVIZI: MARCH

This month it’s all about Trikki Trakki! Our kids have almost reached the finish line with this week marking their last days of workshops and rehearsals before production week kick starts next week. This is no typical Trikki Trakki Festival, it’s the pandemonium edition which means that all workshops and rehearsals will continue to take place online until moving into a safe and socially distanced Blue Box next week in anticipation of their performances during the weekend of the 13th and 14th of March. All precautions have been taken to safeguard those participating and watching and we can’t wait to see all that they’ve put together for the fourth edition of this wonderful festival.

Atelier Francis Ebejer is also in full swing. Just last week we announced its very first group of members and held the initial session of the lot. All members met up together with the artistic directors and associate artists at the Teatru Manoel studio theatre. Even with 2m between us and a live Zoom transmission for those who couldn’t be with us in person, it all went swimmingly, apart from that little speaker malfunction that is (you had to be there). We look forward to many more fruitful Atelier sessions throughout the coming months (hopefully with better speakers)!

If it’s March, then that means that World Theatre Day is around the corner, which also means that some “surprise” announcements are in store for our audiences. We can’t disclose too much for now, but make sure to follow our website and socials on the 27th of March.

Thank you to everyone who tuned in to watch Karnival Bazaar id-Dar, a fun Carnival DIY mini series in partnership with Festivals Malta. All 3 episodes on costume, prop and mask making are available on Facebook and our website. Follow this link to check them out for yourselves if you haven’t already.

Before we head off, if you haven’t had the chance to read Mattea Fo’s review of Alice in Wonderless Land make sure to CLICK HERE and give it a read.
